Esenyurt Preliminary Assessment Report For Participatory Planning

This study consists of a guiding document and its annexes, which aims to contribute to the master plan process to be prepared in the study area, which is defined as TEM North Region in Esenyurt District and covers all of Esenkent, Aşık Veysel, Koza neighborhoods and a part of Orhan Gazi Neighborhood.
The report presents the characteristics of the area under the headings of historical development process, natural structure and risks, spatial characteristics, transportation connections, social facilities and social profile, and defines character zones based on the findings of field observations and preliminary interviews. The planning history and ongoing/planned projects are presented, stakeholder groups are identified, the findings of media and social media research, demands/complaints and public discussions are included, and preliminary interview notes are summarized. Within the framework of the planning perspective, guiding plans and policy documents and lessons learned from best practices are discussed. The Evaluation and Recommendations section identifies the problems, potentials and needs in the planning area, as well as planning themes, and makes recommendations on the participation process.
