The RESLOG Türkiye Post-Earthquake Inclusive Urban Regeneration Participatory Studies

This study includes 2 phases consisting of participatory surveys conducted in 11 pilot provinces in the earthquake zone within the scope of the RESLOG Türkiye Project “Post-Earthquake Inclusive Urban Recovery; Functionality Assessment and Investment Priorities” component and reporting the information obtained in a certain systematic manner. 

During fieldwork in 11 pilot municipalities in the earthquake zone, focus group meetings were held with women, children-youth, disabled-retired-elderly and migrant individuals, and interviews were conducted with representatives of prominent civil society organizations. In this context, 45 focus group meetings and interviews were held with representatives and employees of 28 NGOs, and with the opinions and assessments of more than 600 people; how the earthquake affected service beneficiaries, current needs, post-earthquake expectations regarding services, and medium and long-term improvement suggestions were reported. In Phase 2 of the study, the effects of the earthquake on social service delivery were reported under the headings of women, children, youth, disabled, migrant, retired and elderly groups, institutional structure and all target groups and thematic issues in Reyhanlı, İskenderun, Adana, Osmaniye, Kilis, Gaziantep, Şahinbey, Şanlıurfa and Mezitli, and under the headings of urban infrastructure and environment, urban services and economic development in Kahramanmaraş and Mersin.
